Over the past couple of years I have become increasingly aware of the incredible value in travel deals redeemed through use of airline miles, and points from credit cards and hotels.
The interest has largely been nourished by the ever expanding ranks of travel bloggers and travel experts whom have laid the groundwork, -and to whom I express my gratitude. They produced and built upon the FAQs on credit card deals, creative ways to reach spend limits, and the analysis of value on all types deals which have set me on my way to obsessing constantly over how to get the most value per mile. The travel bug has always been with me. It's only relatively recently that the deal seeking aspect has grabbed my attention.
My initials thoughts for this project were to blend the love of experiencing new cultures through travel, with the most current methods for amassing points and miles to make the travel all the more affordable. To be shared here: What I've found to be the most helpful, most efficient ways to achieve free (or nearly free) comfortable travel. As well as travelogues outlining favorite trips, and highlights of cities and places visited.
It's understood that opinions vary widely, as do levels expertise, so I imagine like-minded friends and family may find more utility in these ruminations and ponderings, than most seasoned travel hackers. I hope it is able to be used as a starting point for the family and friends with whom I've shared tips, and who have asked for more information. I hope also to continue collecting tips and refining methods for the planning the next perfect point-planned get-away!
